Samantha Who?:

Regina Newly, Samantha's mother, is an eccentric, narcissistic housewife whose greatest loves are Oprah and the Home and Garden Channel. Regina sees Samantha's amnesia as a great opportunity to mend their broken relationship... and to mould Samantha into the daughter she's always wanted her to be. Regina and Samantha haven't spoken in two years, for reasons that Regina is guarding like a national secret, and when Samantha doesn't remember their tiff, Regina sees no reason to refresh her recollection. Despite her joy in Samantha's recovery, Regina's still more than a little bitter that it blew her best-ever chance of getting of a complete home renovation courtesy of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

A bit of a control freak, Regina rules the roost, while her chicken farming husband concentrates on the chickens. She also bumps heads with Samantha's friends, both old and new, and thinks she knows what is best for her daughter.
