Samantha Newly wakes up to find her memory wiped and she has no recollection of the accident that put her in this state or the life she had before. But she soon realises this fairly grim situation might have some distinct advantages. She soon learns she was not the perfect person she suspected - but instead was a mean, cruel drunk with various personality disorders. So now she has the chance to start again, she decides to take the plunge.
During the course of series 1, Sam goes back to her old workplace and tries to repair her workaholic ways. She tries her hand at being a bridesmaid, discovers how she's considered by former boyfriends, visits a hypnotherapist, kick starts her love-life and tries to make it up to her emotionally damaged family and friends. But will the new Sam triumph, or will the old, bad Sam return?
