With Dr Cox in the vanguard, a perfect game starts at Sacred Heart where in a 24-hour period none of his 27 ICU patients will die before he gets the hell out of the hospital. A chance to be part of the game is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and JD’s the big winner after Cox picks him to be his ‘catcher’. Elliot can’t stand the fact that JD is Perry's go-to guy, and no matter how hard she tries the only task Cox gives her is to get him a coffee.
At the same time Kelso asks JD to use his cute face to stop the hospital getting sued, so apart from Cox paging him for the thirteenth time within an hour, JD also has to look after the patient who slipped and fell on the Janitor’s wet floor and wound up stuck in an MRI machine.
Having more fun in the MRI room, JD decides to give Elliot a chance to shine and shows her not to be afraid of disagreeing with Cox, before sending her to get back in the game. Left alone he gets closer to the patient, and asks her out without knowing what she looks like, before releasing her from the machine.
Finally with Elliot at his side, Cox loses after one of the patients dies just five minutes before midnight, leaving him still looking for the perfect game. Elsewhere Turk and Carla are experiencing problems, and she expects him to finish their relationship, so she is surprised when Turk tells he loves her ‘even if she eats his French fries’. Ahhh bless!
