After Carla’s silly joke about Turk’s new friend, his paunch, he decides to turn to Dr Cox for help, who seems not to have a problem with staying in shape. Acting on his advice Turk starts to hate his body and becomes a fierce gym junkie, hanging around with his built like a brick plophouse friends. However he realises instead of spending all his free time flexing his muscles and staring at Perry’s ass, he actually prefers fatty doughnuts and movies with Carla and stops polishing the guns.
Whilst Turk and Perry take part in the gym beauty contest, JD accidentally gets stuck with a needle and becomes paranoid he might be infected with Hepatitis B. Despite all the tests being negative, he starts to notice there are sick people everywhere and Sacred Heart is a very contagious environment. Afraid of his meningitis patient, he tries to trade him like a baseball card until Dr Cox tells him even though he’s a doctor he still might get sick. With the odds stacked against him, JD stops worrying and eventually visits his ex-patient with meningitis after all.
Meanwhile Elliot has finally found her Mr. Right who is both thoughtful and handsome, and they click on every level until she gets buried in work. And as the pressures of being on rounds every day, looking after her patients and working on research papers builds, their relationship starts to suffer.
Realising if her internship doesn’t go well she won’t get a good residency, Elliot questions whether she’s got time for Sean and tells him they should become more casual. Despite this he waits for her, pretty sure that in two minutes she will discover what a big mistake she is making and come back to him. But Elliot has chosen to give up something she really wanted now for something she wanted her whole life, leaving Sean alone with his flowers.
