JD is the only one not in a relationship and he is feeling a little lonely and left out. His luck may be changing when he starts interacting with Jamie Moyer, the attractive wife of a comatose car accident victim. The guys at the hospital nicknamed her ‘T.C.W.’ or ‘Tasty Coma Wife’. Jamie’s husband has been on life support for the last two years and she has visited him every Wednesday since he began his stay at Sacred Heart a month ago.
Carla finds out from Ralphie that he swallowed her engagement ring and it came out the other end. Turk had of course neglected to tell her that when he presented her with the ring. When Carla confronts Turk about the ring, Turk accidentally swallows it trying to prove that because he had it steam cleaned three times, he isn’t afraid to put it in his mouth.
Elliot tries to add some spice to her and Paul’s sex life and ties a blindfold around Paul’s eyes to hide the surprise in the bedroom, but he ends up banging his shin against a table, requiring stitches. Later, they get into an even bigger argument when Paul declines Elliot’s invitation to take a bite of her turkey jerky.
All the other couples, Turk and Carla, Cox and Jordan, Elliot and Paul and even Dr. Kelso and Ted, seem to be arguing every other second. Cox and Jordan are back to sniping at each other, even more so now that the baby is here.
A depressed JD ends up going to a bar to have some beers and is surprised to be joined by Jamie. She agrees to be the bait in attracting hot, sexy girls for him. She later surprises him by showing up on his doorstep and immediately puts the moves on him. For once, JD doesn’t react to it and asks Jamie to think about what she’s doing.
JD decides to go out with Jamie. When he tells everyone, they of give him a hard time for dating a coma patient’s wife. He blows up, chastising each of them for criticising him and not realising how lucky they are to have relationships.
JD goes on the date with Jamie. The dinner goes really well and Jamie asks him back to her apartment. He really wants to go, but he also realizes that she probably isn’t ready to start a relationship, so they part ways.
JD is left how he started out, lonely and depressed.
