When Carla and Turk are experiencing marital difficulties, JD and Elliot do their part to try and cheer up their friends, even though JD is happy that their problems means he gets more time to hang out with his friend.

Meanwhile, Dr. Cox challenges Dr. Kelso to lead by example, after hearing him complain about a patient with sun-burn, and take on a few patients of his own after Kelso criticizes his bedside manner, but nothing works out quite as planned. As Kelso dons scrubs for the first time in ages and attempts to treat people directly, he immediately comes across a patient with a weight problem who instantly insults him.
