Dr Cox is having problems relating with his toddler, causing him to take it out on his interns and make people assume his anger issues are getting worse, especially his pregnant wife. Turk downloads Nsyncs ‘Bye Bye Bye’ for his mobile ringtone, creating a stir at the hospital.

JD gets Kim pregnant yet reveals to Elliot, Carla and Turk that they never had actual sex. He seems to handle the baby news badly, getting drunk on his deck and finding himself in Las Vegas with a number of gay seniors. When he returns from his antics, he tries his best to avoid Kim. As everyone seems to be pregnant Elliot feels left out and finds herself, mothering the interns and treating them as her babies.

JD tries to unburden his problems to his patient Mrs Zeebee, who looks rather familiar, after he has just told her she has breast cancer. The doctors and staff are seeing themselves in their patients; Carla points out to Dr Cox the angered patient Mr Slydel is just like him and the Janitor forms a bond with a patient in a wheelchair.

Mrs Zeebee’s cancer has spread; JD has to deliverer the bad news to her. Turk gets JD back for telling him Wauneta is Carla’s middle name. After being tied to a pole and witnessing the overpowering strength of his cancer patient JD finally coughs up the courage to talk to Kim.
