The seventh year at Sacred Heart sees babies galore and a lot of growing up for the former interns at the hospital. Though JD and Elliot have commitments to Kim and Keith respectively, both question their choices. His brother Dan returns to tell JD to grow up, as he doubts his abilities as a partner and a parent. He again tries to prove his manhood, alongside Turk and suddenly finds himself playing the role of a village idiot.
Turk isn’t happy, as he‘s told to ration his chocolate intake to one bar every six months. Carla is worried she is losing her ethnic heritage, while Turk learns Spanish and wonders what the Janitor’s new girlfriend sees in him. The couple begin to talk about having another baby, celebrate the anniversary of their first date and find themselves serving some time as a two-headed witch.
Elliot throws Dr. Kelso a birthday party and tries to convince the hospital board against the retirement of a member of staff. She also has to deal with the overdose of a patient, while JD turns to her for advice about someone he’s treating and she finally becomes the princess she has always wanted to be.
Dr. Cox has some issues with diagnosis and has trouble treating his own children. He’s forced to deal with a new influx of interns while missing his absent family. He embarks on a little food theft at Dr. Kelso’s expense and finally gets a title he can be proud of.
