Episode 6: Naomi

Naomi and Keiran

Naomi (Lily Loveless) thinks she has the world worked out, and puts people in their appropriate boxes. There's her hippy mum (Olivia Colman); the adoration from Emily (Kathryn Prescott); Cook's (Jack O'Connell) insulting misogyny; and her politics teacher, Kieran's (Ardal O'Hanlon), flattery. She thinks she has them all sussed, and that it's only her who can see the truth.

However, the upcoming student elections leave her at a loss, and her insecurities get the better of her. The trust and confidence inspired by a friend encourages her to stand up to her arch rival, the antithesis of everything she stands for, as her and Cook go head to head; but Naomi learns that nothing is black and white anymore.

    New Skins fan here. This was the first episode I ever saw (when it repeated on Channel 4 the other week), and... holy hell. I've watched TV for all of my 29 years, and this is simply one of the best episodes I've ever seen. Of anything. Ever.

    Which is the song that goes out in the part where naomi's going out of the school? is not "just as you are", in tv is different.

    It's taken me about 5 times of watching the episode, but I noticed a pretty obvious continuity error last night lol. When Naomi is spying on the election registration she's not wearing leggings...when she goes outside and meets Kieran, she is! :)

    Lily Loveless has much promise. She has done a splendid job with the material given to her. She expresses wordless emotion as well as any actor i've seen. When the rest of her skills catch up she will be a force to behold and marvel at in her field.
