Clark Kent, the slightly geeky alter ego to the greatest superhero who wears his underpants on the outside, takes on a whole new dimension in this precursor to the Superman legend. You know how the story ends, you’ve seen the movies; now watch the journey begin.
The idyllic town of Smallville, Kansas, a very typical Midwestern town, never seemed the same after the meteor shower that rained down several years ago. That was the day Clark Kent arrived on Earth and the day strange things started happening to the populous.
Now Clark is a strapping teenager and his growing pains are amplified by the burden of his emerging superpowers. Most adolescents have zits and yearning poetry to deal with, but poor old Clark has his super-strength and x-ray vision.
Like most teenagers, he has a girl in his sights and Clark longs for Lana Lang, the beautiful girl next door, but the meteor fragment she wears around her neck complicates his quest for her heart. When the charismatic, though bald, Lex Luthor arrives in town, he befriends Clark. With no inkling of how their destinies will ultimately collide, Lex becomes the older brother Clark never had. Now that can’t go horribly wrong, can it?
The last season saw the young types of Smallville growing up and facing their destinies. Finally the fated hatred between the rookie Superman and his nemesis Lex came to the fore. Soon the transformation from strapping farmhand to iconic superperson wouldbe complete.
Season eight see Clark Kent spending less time in Smallville and trying to tackle the big city - Metropolis. As he's trying to forge a career in journalism, alongside Lois at the Daily Planet, he comes face to face with a variety of Superhero types such as Plastique, Doomsday, Maxima and more. With the Fortress of Solitude seemingly destroyed, Clark must cope with more human obstacles to his fate.
