Smallville :

Lois Lane first enter Clark’s life when she comes to Smallville investigating the supposed death of Chloe, her cousin. After discovering that Chloe is not dead, she finds out that she failed to finish High School and so is forced to attend Smallville High. While attending the school, Chloe convinces Lois to become a reporter for The Torch. With the help of Lex, Clark arranges for Lois to finish her exams and attend Metropolis University.

Lois is chosen to be Jonathan’s Chief of Staff during his Senate run. When Martha takes Jonathan’s place in the election, Lois continues her duties with her. She also begins a romantic relationship with billionaire Oliver Queen, who, unbeknown to her, masquerades at night as the vigilante ‘Green Arrow’. His activities often gets in the way of their relationship, and when he is forced to leave Metropolis his relationship with Lois comes to an end.

Lois eventually decides that she is interested in a career in journalism and takes a job at the newspaper, The Inquisitor. This eventually leads her to a position at the Daily Planet, with her cousin Chloe. While at the newspaper, she begins a relationship with her editor, Grant Gabriel. Chloe feels this romance lessens her journalistic ability in the eyes of her co-workers, while Lex is determined to keep Grant’s true identity a secret. Eventually this pressure causes the relationship to end.
