Smallville :

Clark is amazed when a pesticide magnate, Bob Rickman, who has enhanced powers of persuasion due to the meteor fragments, somehow convinces Jonathan to sell the family farm to make way for a new plant.

Clark teams with a local hermit, Kyle Tippet, who was with Rickman during the shower and knows great deal about the businessman. Rickman tries to use his powers to destroy Clark and Kyle, but Kyle has a surprise up his sleeve.
