Smallville :

As this pilot episode begins, it is the year 1989 and a meteor shower hits Smallville. During the shower, a small spacecraft, containing a boy, crashes in front of Jonathan and Martha Kent's truck. They take in the child and name him Clark.

Then it is twelve years later and Clark is searching for his true identity. When told about his origins, he runs away from home. Although he loves the girl next door, Lana Lang, he cannot get close to her because she wears a necklace made of kryptonite, which causes Clark incredible pain. But Clark and Lana do share an intimate moment at a cemetery, where Lana is visiting the grave of her parents. Lana's boyfriend, Whitney Fordmam, becomes jealous of Clark and Lana's friendship and ties Clark to a scarecrow pole, using Lana's necklace, indirectly, to subdue Clark.

Clark is saved from the cornfield by Lex Luthor, who Clark rescued from drowning in a car accident. Jeremy Creek, who was mutated by the meteor rocks, gaining special powers, seeks revenge against the high school students who bullied him. He sets out to kill everyone attending the school's dance, but Clark is able to arrive in time to stop him.
