Judging criteria
Entries will be assessed in accordance with the Air Guitar UK judging criteria, by Air Guitar UK judge (and twice world champion) Zac Monro. The following criteria will be assessed:
Originality
The judges have seen a lot already, many times: try to take the art-form somewhere new!The ability to be taken over by the music
Forget where you are, this is rock and roll.
Stage Charisma/Presence
When the sun sets and you're all alone in your room, you'd better pray some subconscious primordial instinct takes over and you can make that connection.
Technique/Technical Ability
If you miss a few notes or chord changes that's all good, but if you get up there without a guitar and just mime along to the music, you're not going to make it with anyone anyhow.
Impression
From the heart my friends, from the heart.
Airness
If you define a thing it loses its power, so lets just say its probably the ability to transcend the reality of all of the above. Probably. If you prefer, it's the same as 'presentation' in figure skating — how much the performance was an object of art by itself, not only a simulation of playing guitar. OK?
